Every time you want to save, autosave ingame and copy the save folder from My Documents and put it somewhere on desktop. At the moment this is the only way to do it. Use that wood on building and worry about walls once you have two mills and have the tech center. After 10 (?) days or so, you'll want to start making more rangers so you can start claiming new land.
